Sofia Vergara opens up on divorce

Sofía Vergara has revealed the reason why she and Joe Manganiello decided to call it quits after seven years of marriage.

In an interview with El País, the 51-year-old actress revealed that Manganiello’s desire to have children led to their divorce.

“My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids, and I didn’t want to be an old mum,” she said.

“I feel it’s not fair to the baby.”

The Modern Family actress added that although she respects those who wish to have children later in life, the path is just not for her anymore.

The actress already has shares a 32-year-old son with her first husband, Joe Gonzalez.

“I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother,” she said.

“When my son becomes a dad, let him bring the baby to me for a while and then I’ll give it back to him and go on with my life; that’s what I have to do," she added.

Despite this, the actress is open to love again - as long as her next romantic partner has kids of his own.

In July 2023, Vergara and Joe Manganiello announced their separation in a statement shared to Page Six.

“We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives,” the statement read.

Manganiello, has since moved on, after making his red carpet debut with his 33-year-old actress girlfriend Caitlin O’Connor in December 2023.

Image: Getty

"We are so grateful for the incredible medical team looking after him. Thank you for all the love and support."

Earlier, Barnes bravely shared the news that the bacterial infection had spread to his heart. Despite this unexpected challenge, he faced the situation with courage and underwent open heart surgery to clear out the infection and replace a valve. The infection had affected a valve replaced years ago due to a congenital defect.

Barnes, who was set to headline the Rock the Boat 2023 cruise festival before falling ill, reflected on his recent peak fitness just weeks prior. The sudden turn of events required adjustments to upcoming shows, causing some frustration for the singer. However, his son, David Campbell, reassured fans on the Today show, emphasising his father's frustration for the fans and passion for supporting the music industry.

"He is in wonderful hands," Campbell said, expressing confidence in the medical team. Barnes' son also encouraged fans to reach out to him on social media, assuring everyone that the rock legend would make a great recovery.

As the music community rallies around Barnes, sending waves of positivity and healing energy, we look forward to a speedy recovery and many more years of rock and roll from the indomitable Jimmy Barnes!

Images: Instagram

"It was a relief": Rebecca Gibney opens up on mental health struggles

Rebecca Gibney has revealed what a "relief" it was to finally open up about the mental health struggles she faced from 14 to 30-years-old.

The New Zealand actress, 58, said she spent a lot of that time "pretending" she was okay despite growing up around domestic violence, as her mother suffered from abuse in the hands of Gibney's late father, Austin.

In an interview with Stellar on Saturday, the Packed to the Rafters star shared that she is "loving" how mental health is now being framed.

“When I started talking about my mental health struggles and anxiety ... it was a relief,” she told the publication.

“I could drop the mask of pretending that I was OK. What I’m loving seeing is that more and more people are now going, ‘I’m not OK’”.

Gibney first opened up about her struggles in 2017, when she opened up about the abuse her mother faced and how she was “beaten so badly she had bruises for six months on her legs.

“She’d always shut the doors ... you’d hear the yelling and the shouting and the slapping, but you’d never actually see it," she told Women's Day, at the time.

After Gibney's father died in 1982, the actress began seeing a therapist, but was "on Valium and in a dark place for quite a while”.

In her latest interview with Stellar, Gibney also added that more needed to be done to prevent domestic violence and help survivors.

“We still don’t want to talk about it. We need to really drill down (and question), ‘Why is this happening?’ We need more education, more centres," she said.

“We need people to be able to get the help they need.”

Images: Instagram

"Betrayed": Shannen Doherty opens up on tough divorce amid cancer battle

Shannen Doherty revealed it all on the debut episode of her new podcast Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty.

The actress opened up on her tough split from her husband of 14 years, Kurt Iswarienko, after she found out he had been having an affair for two years, while she was battling brain cancer.

She recalled the moment she found out, right before her surgery to remove the tumour in January.

“I went into that surgery early in the morning and I went in after I found out that my marriage was essentially over, that my husband had been carrying on an affair for two years,” she said.

“To not go in that surgery, even though, being very clear, he wanted to go, I couldn’t go into that surgery with him there. I felt so betrayed.”

“At the end of the day, I just felt so incredibly unloved by someone I was with for 14 years, by someone I loved with all my heart,” Doherty continued, adding that she had her family and friends by her side.

Though the Charmed actress is currently focusing on her health and the future, she did admit that the entire experience has been overwhelming.

“Just to have to go through all of that while trying to figure out if you’re going to get a frickin’ divorce and trying to get to the truth of that,” she said.

She added that she was "obsessed" with finding out the truth of the affair, “through conversations, expecting someone to be honest with me.”

“If you share 14 years together and you cheated, doesn’t that person deserve the absolute truth regardless of how much that hurts them? If they’re the ones asking for it, if they’re the ones saying, ‘Listen, I get it, I may cry, I may get angry, and this may really suck to hear, but I need to hear it because I need closure and this is how I get my closure.’ So I had a lot of months of trying to figure out what I was going to do,” she explained.

She added that the reason why she was trying so hard to make sense of the situation was because she herself does not condone cheating, “If you cheat on me, you’re out," she said.

“Then when someone you really, really love, someone that you regard as your absolute best friend in the world, when you’re lied to and you discover they cheated on you, or they finally tell you they’re cheating on you because they’re riddled by guilt or whatever, I didn’t walk away. I couldn’t. I was so confused.”

She added that the confusion was also a side effect from her surgery as she was undertaking a bunch of medication and steroids to prevent her brain from swelling.

Doherty and Iswarienko tied the knot in 2011 and filed for divorce earlier this year in April.

The actress revealed that she struggled with her decision to file for divorce, and did talk to “girlfriend of two years that he cheated on me with.”

“And honestly, it’s still really hard. Yes, I made the decision to file for divorce, but I have a lot of memories with this person,” she said.

She added that although she takes responsibility for some of the issues in their marriage, she does not take responsibility for the "demise" of it.

“I take responsibility not only because of how I was but because of how cancer impacted my marriage and how it impacted him the second time around," she said.

"I do not take responsibility for the demise of our marriage because I am not a quitter. If somebody is still showing me loyalty and respect and love, I’m going to hang in there. I’m going to try my hardest," she added.

Despite three failed marriages, the actress said that she still believes in love.

Images: Getty

Fergie opens up about cancer “paranoia”

Sarah Ferguson has spoken candidly about feeling paranoid that her cancer would return.

The Duchess of York appeared on a UK morning show, and shared how she regularly wakes in the middle of night in a panic that she would “get cancer somewhere else”.

The 64-year-old royal, who appeared on the show to talk about the importance of attending your regular mammogram appointments, said, “You start four in the morning syndrome.”

“You know that moment when you suddenly wake up and go ‘oh I'm sure I've got cancer somewhere else... I'm gonna go and ring my doctor’.”

“I'm getting over that but it's only been a few months since I've had the operation, so I'm just beginning to sit up straight.”

The Duchess also opened up about feeling grateful that her diagnosis was caught early, and navigating the “feeling of demise” at the reality of living with cancer.

“I caught it so early, just in time,” she added.

“The real thing is, it's that terrible fear of ‘oh no, it won't happen to me’... and that's why I want to shout about it. I wouldn't be sitting here if I hadn't have gone.”

Fergie admitted that she had been putting off her routine appointment, but her older sister, who was visiting her from Australia, pushed her to have the mammogram.

The Duchess added that she's “very grateful” to the Royal Free Hospital and the NHS, praising their detection systems.

“I had a shadow, it was like a splat,” she explained. “Eighteen months before, it wasn't there. So it had come on from the last mammogram to this mammogram.”

She also added she will “never forget” her drive from the hospital.

“Your mind goes into, ‘oh my god I've got to have a mastectomy, and you look it up and it's all so terrifying and this is what's going to happen and then I'm not going to see my grandchildren grow up’.”

“That's what goes through your head... it's that feeling of demise.”

"Uniquely, magically, indescribably us": Read the emotional love letter from Suzanne Somers' husband

Just one day before her death, Suzanne Somers' husband gave her a handwritten love letter as part of an early birthday present.

Somers' husband, Alan Hamel, gave the letter to his wife of 45 years just 24 hours before she passed away at the age of 76.

According to Somers' publicist, R. Couri Hay, Hamel “gave it to her a day early and she read the poem and went to bed and later died peacefully in her sleep.”

The emotional poem was an expression of love from Somers' husband, as he struggled to define their intense relationships.

“Love I use it every day, sometimes several times a day. I use it at the end of emails to my loving family. I even use it in emails to close friends. I use it when I’m leaving the house,” the note began, via People.

“There’s love, then love you and I love you!! Therein lies some of the different ways we use love. Sometimes I feel obliged to use love, responding to someone who signed love in their email, when I’m uncomfortable using love but I use it anyway.

“I also use love to describe a great meal. I use it to express how I feel about a show on Netflix. I often use love referring to my home, my cat Gloria, to things Gloria does, to the taste of a cantaloupe I grew in my garden.”

“I love the taste of a freshly harvested organic royal jumbo medjool date. I love biting a fig off the tree. I love watching two giant blackbirds who live nearby swooping by my window in a power dive. My daily life encompasses things and people I love and things and people I am indifferent to,” he continued.

“I could go on ad infinitum, but you get it. What brand of love do I feel for my wife Suzanne? Can I find it in any of the above? A resounding no!!!! There is no version of the word that is applicable to Suzanne and I even use the word applicable advisedly.”

“The closest version in words isn’t even close. It’s not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction. Unconditional love does not do it. I’ll take a bullet for you doesn’t do it. I weep when I think about my feelings for you. Feelings… That’s getting close, but not all the way.”

“55 years together, 46 married and not even one hour apart for 42 of those years. Even that doesn’t do it,” he added. “Even going to bed at 6 o’clock and holding hands while we sleep doesn’t do it. Staring at your beautiful face while you sleep doesn’t do it.”

“I’m back to feelings. There are no words,” he concluded. “There are no actions. No promises. No declarations. Even the green shaded scholars of the Oxford University Press have spent 150 years and still have failed to come up with that one word. So I will call it, ‘Us,’ uniquely, magically, indescribably wonderful ‘Us.’”

Somers and Hamel tied the knot in 1977, giving them 45 years together as husband and wife.

Somers died on Sunday morning after “an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years,” her publicist said in a statement.

Suzanne was best known for playing Chrissy Snow on the 1970s sitcom Three’s Company and Carol Foster Lambert on the ’90s family comedy Step by Step.

David and Victoria Beckham open up about alleged affair

David and Victoria Beckham have chosen to open up about the "unhappiest" period of their lives, in their highly-anticipated Netflix documentary.

The power couple candidly spoke about David's alleged affair in 2003, where he was accused of cheating with his former personal assistant Rebecca Loos after they were spotted leaving a night club in Spain.

The rumours spread just after David was transferred from the Manchester United club to Real Madrid .

David called the claims “ludicrous” at the time, and now his wife Victoria has also shared her heartache during that time, describing it as the "unhappiest in her life".

Ahead of the release of the four-part documentary series, director Fisher Stevens revealed how "unpleasant" it was for him to ask the couple such personal questions.

"It wasn't pleasant, but we got into it," he said.

"For me, I approached it as, "How did your marriage stay together?" and you'll see how he responds," he added.

Producer John Battsek also told The Sunday Times that the couple "signed up” to a nothing off-limits contract, and were happy to discuss tougher subjects.

“There was no, “You will not ask that or do that,’" he said

"Fisher and I thought that might be the case, but we were clear from the start that we would only do this if we could go in any direction we wanted. And we did," he added.

Aside from the alleged affair, the couple also opened up about their first date and are clearly still smitten with each other.

“The fact I went to the games really was to - some might say I stalked him, I would say see him," she joked about their first meeting at a charity football match in 1997.

She also added that she was immediately attracted to the football star when she spotted him chatting with his parents before the game.

“When I saw him in the footballers’ lounge, all the other footballers were at the bar, and he was standing and talking to his parents, and I’m very close to my family, and I loved that side to him.”

David's recollection of their first meeting was a bit more simple: “I just fancied her”.

The couple have been married since 1999 and have four kids together - sons Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 18, and a daughter Harper, 12.

Image: Kevin Winter/Getty Images

Sir Michael Palin opens up on grief

Sir Michael Palin has made a candid admission about his grief, following the loss of his beloved wife Helen Gibbins.

Gibbins passed away just weeks after the couple celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary, following a long battle with kidney failure and chronic pain.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, Palin opened up about the "great emptiness" he felt in the wake of Gibbins' death.

“When someone’s gone, someone who has been so much part of your life for the past 60 years, you can’t believe they’re not there to enjoy a little joke, or an observation, or a b**** about somebody,” he said.

“A great sort of emptiness comes in.”

Palin shared that his wife relied on dialysis for "so many years" to "keep her alive" that when she, and their children, ultimately made the decision to stop the treatment, he had “never seen her happier".

“She’d accepted it, we’d accepted it, she was in a wonderful hospice,” Palin said about the days before his wife's passing.

“The children and grandchildren had all come to see her, so her death was a great deliverance for her.”

Despite everything, the comedy legend tried to look at the bright side, sharing that he experienced a full circle moment when he had to register Gibbins' death, and a couple with a baby were also at the at the registry office.

“I saw the father, I presume, holding on his chest this tiny, tiny little newborn baby,” he said. “And I thought, yes, that’s it, a new person – one in, one out.”

Images: Getty

Crowd cheers as fan booted from US Open after vile Nazi slur

During a US Open tennis match held early on Tuesday morning, a spectator found themselves ejected from the event following an incident involving German tennis player Alexander Zverev.

The disruption arose when Zverev, seeded number 12, was locked in a fierce fourth-set battle against Italy's Jannik Sinner, seeded number six.

At a critical juncture in the match, just as he was about to serve, Zverev approached chair umpire James Keothavong and pointed out a fan situated right behind the umpire's chair.

Zverev raised the issue, stating, "He [the fan] just said the most famous Hitler phrase there is..."

Zverev then expressed his strong disapproval, exclaiming, "It's unacceptable, this is unbelievable."

In response to Zverev's concerns, Keothavong scanned the crowd and repeatedly asked, "Who said that? Who said that?" amid raucous boos from the audience.

The umpire swiftly made a decision, asserting, "We're going to get him out," much to the relief of those watching in Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Keothavong also took a moment to remind the crowd to maintain respect for both players. Shortly after, during a changeover, spectators seated near the offending fan identified him, and security promptly removed him from the venue. The crowd responded with cheers as the fan was escorted up the stadium stairs.

A US Tennis Association spokesperson, Chris Widmaier, confirmed the incident, stating, "A disparaging remark was directed toward Alexander Zverev. The fan was identified and escorted from the stadium."

Despite the disruption, Zverev went on to triumph over Sinner in a gruelling five-set match and secured his spot in the quarterfinals, where he would face the defending US Open champion, Carlos Alcaraz.

This epic match, which Zverev won with scores of 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, endured for an impressive four hours and 41 minutes, making it the lengthiest match of the tournament up to that point. The contest concluded at 1:40 am local time in New York.

Reflecting on the incident in the post-match press conference, Zverev revealed that while he had encountered fans making derogatory comments before, this was the first time he had experienced an incident involving Hitler.

He shared: "He started singing the anthem of Hitler that was back in the day. It was ‘Deutschland über alles’ and it was a bit too much.

"I think he was getting involved in the match for a long time, though. I don’t mind it, I love when fans are loud, I love when fans are emotional. But I think me being German and not really proud of that history, it’s not really a great thing to do and I think him sitting in one of the front rows, I think a lot of people heard it. So if I just don’t react, I think it’s bad from my side.”

Despite the disturbance, Zverev remained composed and noted, “It’s his loss, to be honest, to not witness the final two sets of that match.”

Image: Getty Images

Simon Cowell opens up on secret health battle

Renowned television personality and judge of Britain's Got Talent, Simon Cowell, has unveiled his personal journey battling mental health issues and his choice to finally seek treatment.

Acknowledged for his acerbic demeanour, Simon Cowell has come forth to disclose a hidden confrontation with his mental well-being.

The famous talent show judge conceded that he has grappled with depression throughout the years, though he once regarded it as an inherent aspect of his character – a challenge to be managed privately.

While not professing medical expertise, Cowell, 63, shared during his conversation on the "Men In Mind" podcast with Tom Bryant that he has progressively come to realise his situation and embarked on self-directed endeavours to improve his mental health.

The pandemic, as Cowell described, acted as a significant amplifier of his mental struggles. The outbreak of COVID-19, he revealed, served as a true catalyst for his introspection.

"In the very, very, very early stages, some friends of mine got really ill and I'm talking about really ill," he said on the podcast. "So, I thought, 'God, if I catch this, maybe the same thing's going to happen to me, Eric and Lauren."

Lauren, Cowell's partner of 14 years, and their son Eric, aged nine, joined him in navigating the lockdown, predominantly stationed in Los Angeles, USA. They conscientiously adhered to isolation measures and subjected themselves to regular testing.

Cowell's apprehensions over his mental well-being were further compounded by the uncertainties surrounding the continuation of Britain's Got Talent. The lingering indecision about resuming filming for the show added an extra layer of strain to his internal battles.

“When I see my friends, the first thing I talk about is how therapy has had this super positive effect on my life,” he now says. “I wish I had done this 10 or 20 years ago...it’s like a weight has lifted off my shoulders.”

Images: Simon Cowell / Instagram

"That was just a really difficult hole to fill.”

"We put so much emotion into that little dog and then he died as tragically as he did," he continued.

"The only way we could really stop that from being so harsh was to get another puppy.”

Later in the interview, the star revealed that he had the dog flown over from South Australia to Sydney in a private jet.

"I'm dealing with Britney whose level of grief was so deep that yeah I put her on a little jet and sent her to go see the dog, then she picked up the dog and came home," Crowe admitted of his girlfriend's pain.

"I know it makes me look like a bit of a tosser but you know it's about 'what do I need to do right now to help Britney’."

His tragic confession comes just two months after Louis the Papillion’s death.

Harry opens up about his intrusive Aussie gap year

While opening up to London’s High Court as part of his phone hacking case against British tabloids, Prince Harry detailed his experiences in Australia in 2003 when the royal was in the country on his gap year.

The Duke of Sussex referenced two articles that were published at the time, alleging that private investigators had been hired by his family to keep an eye on him.

In his witness statement, he noted that a newspaper had run with the headline “Beach Bum Harry” for a story on his trip to a Noosa beach with some of his friends.

“It was a public beach, but not busy or popular so I’m unclear how anyone had known we were there, to be in the right place at the right time to take photographs. I wasn’t aware of anyone taking photographs at the time,’’ he explained, before sharing that locating the group would have been of a similar challenge level to “trying to find a needle in a haystack”.

But as the lawyer representing Mirror Group Newspapers pointed out, there was “no doubt that many photographers were prepared to look for that needle in a haystack”.

Harry had more to reveal from there, sharing his belief that the late Queen had sent “senior” members of Buckingham Palace’s aide team to monitor him while he was in Australia, all because of the “intrusion” of the paparazzi into his life.

“I only learnt recently that the Queen had asked one of her Assistant Private Secretaries to fly out to Noosa and take a house down the road from where I was staying,” he explained, “without me knowing.”

The second article was also released in 2003, and was one that claimed the young royal was “ready to quit Oz”. As Harry explained, it reported that he was “considering leaving Australia … because of the level of press intrusion I was experiencing.”

“The article includes a comment from a Palace spokesman expressing concern and disappointment about the treatment I was experiencing,” he said.

“I do recall that the Palace issued a statement, because the situation in Australia was awful for me and there was supposed to be an agreement that once I had done the press call on arrival, I would be left to get on with my gap year in private.

“I was a teenager, and this made it clear that there was nowhere in the world - not even the Australian outback - where I wouldn’t be hounded by the press or paparazzi.”

Images: Getty

An 11-year-old girl from New South Wales has captured hearts with her touching words and well-wishes for King Charles III.

Maeve Malone, who lives in Willoughby with her family, wrote a letter to the monarch in September 2022 to offer her condolences on the loss of Charles’ late mother, Queen Elizabeth, and to let him know that she believes he will be a “fantastic king”.

Maeve’s letter, which she shared with Ben Fordham on his 2GB series, opened with a quick introduction, before she launched into the heart of her message, writing that she was “really sorry to hear about your mum. I am 10 and in Year 4, Mum and Dad let me stay up to watch Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

“You were so brave on that sad day. I think you will be excellent at leading the commonwealth. I also believe you will be a fantastic king.”

At the end of the page - one embellished with colourful images of purple flowers - Maeve shared another personal message for Charles, letting him know of their shared interest in botany when she said, “Mum told me you like gardening, me too! I hope the flowers in your new home are blossoming.”

“I hope to visit London one day,” she concluded. “When I do, I will go past your home and think of you and your mum.

“Best of luck with your new job.”

After reading Maeve’s letter, radio host Fordham checked in with the young girl, asking her what had prompted her to put pen to paper and contact Charles in the first place.

“I wrote it because I wanted him to know that I was sorry for Queen Elizabeth,” Maeve explained, “I really liked Queen Elizabeth, ‘cause she was a really good leader, and it was really sad for Charles to lose his mum.”

When Fordham asked what Maeve had expected from her kind words, and whether or not she had anticipated a response, the 11 year old was quick to admit that she hadn’t expected one.

But to her delight, she’d been wrong, with a letter arriving in the mail, addressed to her and signed by the monarch.

“I got it out of the letter box, and when I got it … I started jumping with joy,” Maeve said.

That letter - typed up with Charles’ signature at the bottom - read, “it was so very kind of you to send me such a wonderfully generous message following the death of my beloved mother.

“Your most thoughtful words are enormously comforting, and I cannot tell you how deeply they are appreciated at this time of immense sorrow.”

And while Maeve’s entire day might have been made with the kind reply, she still won’t be able to tune in for her new friend’s big day - he might have his coronation to attend, but Maeve is a busy girl, and has a party of her own to get to.

Images: Ben Fordham Live / 2GB

Never-seen-before letter from Princess Di revealed

The late Princess of Wales wanted the monarchy “to survive”, according to her former butler Paul Burrell.

He has previously revealed an unseen letter handwritten by Diana, saying he believes she would have fully supported her ex-husband King Charles at the coronation.

Burrell said Diana’s words were "so poignant at this time” as the British monarchy prepares to celebrate the first coronation in 70 years.

He shared the letter in an interview with OK! Magazine.

Burrell said the note was written by Diana between 1993 and 1997 after she had separated from then-Prince Charles.

Diana often wrote notes, sending them to her friends and staff.

In the letter to Burrell, Diana wrote, "I so want the monarchy to survive and realise the changes that will take to put 'the show' on a new and healthy track.

"I am here to support Mama [the Queen] and to bring W + H [William and Harry] up in order to cope with the fast changing world we live in.

"I love my boys to death and hope that the seeds I've planted will grow and bring the strength, knowledge and stability that is needed.”

Burrell explained he shared the never-before-seen letter because he believes it revealed Diana’s true feelings about the monarchy.

"I wanted you to see Diana's handwriting and her words because they are so poignant at this moment in time, tied into the coronation and tied into the fact she was a monarchist.

"She loved the royal family and she wanted the royal family to survive. And also, the fact her sons William and Harry were part of this, what she called, 'The Show’.

"She used to leave notes and letters for me all the time on my desk. She'd say, 'Whenever I have a thought and you're not there I have to write it down otherwise I'll forget.

"She was thinking about her life and the way forward and her sons and her part in the royal family.”

With the coronation fast approaching, Burrell said Diana would have been there if she could have and would support the King and Queen Consort Camilla.

"I always think to myself, 'What would she do in this situation?' And she would have been at the coronation looking glorious, in her sixties, outshining everyone the way she did.

"I don't think she would hold any animosity at all towards her ex-husband or towards her ex-husband's wife.

"I think she would have gone on in life and achieved her own ambitions, still being royal and regal."

A letter to my mum this Mother’s Day

A couple of weeks ago, we asked the Over60 community what they would say if they could write their mother a letter. We were flooded with hundreds of beautiful, touching and heartbreaking responses, and we’d like to share a few of them with you.

1. The important lessons

“There are so many things I would say, but thank you for making my childhood so good. For teaching the important lessons, like be kind to others, try not to do anything you have to be sorry for and if you do, don't be afraid to say sorry. Do your best always. Look for best in every situation. Money is important, but not the most important thing you can have as an adult. Love, self-respect and follow your dreams. Be the person you want your children to look up to. Be happy. Thanks mum for loving me so much, I love you.” – Raelene Sched

2. Best mum in the world

“Dear Mum, there is not a day that goes bye where I don't think about you. Nothing on this earth prepared me for you leaving and learning to live without you. I miss you so much, the ache is still in my heart. I love you and wish you were still here with us. I feel so lucky that you were my mum, I truly believe you were the best mum in the world, you were so giving and selfless.” – Kathryn Wotherspoon

3. Thanks for being my mum

“Thank you first for being my mum. Always there for me and loving me. The loveliest nature person I have ever met. Always trying to please everyone and families. You left us so young because God only takes the best. Loved you then and even more now. Miss you every day.” – Caroline Carlson Corbett

4. Never been forgotten

“You left me when I was 11 years old, but you were too ill to stay. I’m 77 years old now and it’s just like yesterday. I miss you every day and will never forget you. I talk to your picture and wish with all my heart you could have been with me and seen your grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I know you would be so loving and proud. I hope wherever you are happy. You have never been forgotten. I love you, mum.” – Pat White

5. My only regret

“Dear Mum, I am all the better for having you as my mother, you worked so hard all your life and were a punching bag for Dad, but you survived and made sure we all had a way better life than you had. I love and miss you so much, and my only regret is not sitting by your bed and holding your hand as you got sicker and sicker. I let my two sisters have that pleasure while I was being too busy making sure everything was nice and clean and you had food to eat, if I had my time over, I would sit with you and tell you I love you over and over because we never know how much time we have left.” – Sharon Deans

Illustration: Midjourney
